Proposal for a Fee Reduction in the Money On Chain and RIF On Chain Protocols

Dear Money On Chain and RIF On Chain Communities,

As co-founder of the protocols, I would like to present a proposal to reduce fees on both Money On Chain and RIF On Chain.
This proposal pursues two objectives: (1) alleviate the drag currently affecting BPRO/RIFP holders, and (2) lower primary-market friction (mint/redeem) in a context of low demand on the stablecoin side (DoC/USDRIF).

Fee Reduction (MoC and RIF On Chain):

  • BPRO / RIFP annual fee: 1.00% → 0.75% (collected weekly).

  • Mint/Redeem paid with rBTC (MoC): 0.30% → 0.25%.

  • Mint/Redeem paid with MoC (MoC): 0.25% → 0.20%.

  • Mint/Redeem paid with RIF (RIF On Chain): 0.25% → 0.20%.

Rationale (short):
With muted demand for the stablecoin leg, the 1% annual fee on BPRO/RIFP acts as a headwind that erodes net returns on the volatile leg, particularly in sideways phases. Cutting it by 25 bps reduces that drag. In parallel, trimming mint/redeem by 5 bps reduces operational friction for primary issuance/redemption on both protocols—without altering fee splits or destinations.

Scope:
This proposal only modifies rates; it does not change fee splits or destinations.

Timeline & Review Intent:
Ninety days after this reduction, we will conduct a formal review with the intention of reducing fees again, subject to community approval and observed metrics.

Technical procedure to achieve these changes

In order to make all these changes, a Change Contract must be put to a vote in the governance system and after the community reaches consensus, the changes will be executed.
